The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is pleased to announce the 2018 Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program. USDA is now accepting the application from Indonesian scientists. The application deadline is November 5, 2017.

For 2018 Borlaug program, research priorities for Indonesia are:

  • Market Information Systems: to develop crop area estimation procedures and crop yield models, based on the applications of remote sensing and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) Agricultural; data analysis and dissemination.
  • Breeding and Genetics: to conduct research and develop skills in plant breeding, such as gene mapping, gene expression, gene deletion, gene introduction, marker-assisted plant breeding, DNA mapping, etc.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications from Indonesian scientists for the 2018 Borlaug Global Cocoa Initiative Fellowships. Fore more information regarding research priorities for regional Asia countries can be seen at this link.

The targeted research areas apply to all of the countries eligible for the 2018 Global Research Alliance Borlaug Fellowships, which is including Indonesia, can be found at GRA program.
The application deadline for this program is also November 5, 2017.
